For artists like Brien Allen, there’s an extraordinarily vivid contrast between making a living and living life. While most people might pursue security in a templated path, the 29-year-old guitarist was prepared to put everything on the line to follow a musical route and have the adventure of a lifetime.
To say that the artist’s musical portfolio is impressive would be an understatement. His career has been nothing short of stellar as Brien continues to shake the world with rocking riffs and masterful jams. The musician plays guitar for three up-and-coming bands, who each have reached significant milestones in most recent times. Those three bands include the groups Altermind, Al Cielo, and Bridges Ablaze.
Altermind is the first of Brien’s more significant projects. Formed in 2017, the Texas-based three-piece band blends the intricate style of Progressive Metal and Djent, and even has moments marked with hints of electronica, ambient, and jazz fusion. The band has released one original track entitled “Archetype” in 2019, and is currently releasing its first album at the beginning of 2021.
The second project Brien Allen has joined is a band called Al Cielo. The Latin pop-rock group has recently breached significant figures in 2020, gathering over 9,600 listeners and 31,000 streams on Spotify. Their most popular track to date is a song entitled “A Tu Lado,” which now has 54,000 plus Spotify streams. Al Cielo is also working on publishing an album next year.
Lastly, Brien also plays guitar and sings in the hard rock band Bridges Ablaze. The band’s unique sound features a duet-like sound given both guitar players of the band also sing vocals, Brien Allen being one of the two.
When Brien Allen finished his college education, he found himself at a crossroads with two enticing paths: pursuing his love for music or becoming a professional engineer. On one side was the promise of stability and comfort, which would have him jump into a petroleum engineering career. On the other side was his passion for music, which Allen knew all too well was his true calling. Upon graduating college at The University of Texas in 2010, Brien would take the leap of faith, jump into music full time, play shows, and tour the country.
The guitar player’s career started out a little rocky as his first project band struggled to break through. After years of learning from his failures, Brien started over and rebranded himself. Today, he has played a significant role in creating three highly successful bands. On top of his projects, Brien Allen has also played guitar for various groups and even female pop artists.
All in all, Brien is on his way to making a name for himself in the music industry. Armed with a versatility that makes him an asset to different genres, including rock, metal, Latin, EDM, and pop music, Brien has proven that he can bring value to any music group or company.
In the coming years, Brien Allen hopes to launch more records and possibly even tour the world.
