Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik have inked contracts to stay as the permanent hosts of Jeopardy, after the footsteps of the late Alex Trebek.
The crowd favorite answer-and-question show announced on Wednesday, two days following news that Jennings and Bialik would appear in it for the long run.
“The fact is, we have so much Jeopardy! to make, and so many plans for the future, that we always knew we would need multiple hosts for the franchise and we are just so grateful that Mayim and Ken stepped in and stepped up to put the show in a position to succeed,” said executive producer Michael Davis in a statement.
“In Mayim and Ken, we have two outstanding hosts at the beginning of their Jeopardy! hosting careers who connect with their own unique fanbases, new fans, and the traditional Jeopardy! viewer.”
Jennings will start with season 39 in fall, anchoring new episodes of Jeopardy from September through December – counting the first Second Chance competition and the Tournament of Champions.
He will also have guests with the likes of Amy Schneider, Matt Amodio, Mattea Roach, Ryan Long, and others.
On the other hand, Bialik will anchor the new segment of the show Celebrity Jeopardy in prime time ahead of assuming the host position from Jennings in January.
She will also host new tournaments such as the National College Championships, with her balancing her schedule in filming Fox’s Call Me Kat.

Jeopardy Will be Consistent
“We know you value consistency, so we will not flip flop the hosts constantly and will keep you informed about the hosting schedule,” Davies stated.
That consistency vow comes after a difficult search to find a replacement for Trebek. Following a series of guest hosts, Jeopardy first revealed plans for executive producer Mike Richard to be the permanent host. However, the decision was withdrawn after offensive statements previously made by him on a podcast appeared again, sparking a public protest.
Bialik and Jennings have been hosting together over the 2021-2022 season. On Monday, the episodes that will play will be repeated and will remain that way until the new season starts.
Other plans for Jeopardy include a podcast every week with the producers of the show that will give analysis, behind-the-scenes moments, and talks about new developments.
