As she copes with a recent cancer diagnosis, eight-year-old American pit bull terrier mix Chrissy is searching for a forever family in Salt Lake City, Utah.
According to Best Friends Animal Society, Chrissy was rescued from Salt Lake County Animal Services in December 2022 and is now residing at the Best Friends Lifesaving Center. She was discovered to have skin/SQ mast cell tumors, also known as MCTs, which are a type of cancer that, if the masses are removed, can have a good prognosis.
Fortunately, Chrissy had the tumors surgically removed on December 17, 2022, and every biopsy revealed that she had low-grade mast cell tumors.
According to the shelter, Chrissy is an adorable eight-year-old girl who is potty-trained, loves snacks, and is a great snuggler despite her medical issues. She also knows her basic commands. She has a kind heart and is friendly to everyone she meets.
Chrissy is described as a sweet and loving puppy who is potty-trained and knows her basic commands, though she may need additional care given her recent cancer diagnosis.
