No matter what hobby you end up choosing, it’s the perfect time to test your creativity and give yourself some self care. Society is so busy these days that it’s hard to take time for yourself, but that’s why finding a hobby is so important. It requires you to make time for something you enjoy and can give you a little breathing room in your busy schedule. There are so many ways to be creative, but quilting is all the rage nowadays and maybe you should hop on the bandwagon.
Quilting has gained attention on social media, especially TikTok, where creators share their projects and offer step-by-step guides. This exposure has made the craft more accessible and encouraged people to try quilting. As more individuals engage with quilting, it helps build a community where enthusiasts can share their experiences.
“Social media is playing a big role in the quilting movement, acting as a place where enthusiasts from all over can share, inspire and encourage each other in ways that were not possible before. It’s all about breaking the mold with contemporary designs, embracing bold colors that pop, and experimenting with innovative techniques that push the boundaries,” says Corey Pearson, Chief Quilt Artist and Brand Ambassador at Linda’s.
Quilting serves as a creative outlet for many individuals. It offers various opportunities for self-expression, allowing people to explore different ideas and inspirations as they work on their projects.There are really no rules when it comes to quilting, because it’s such a personal craft. People can choose the colors, patterns, designs and meaning behind their project, and that’s what makes quilting so beautiful. The work of art at the end is great, but sometimes it’s the journey that helps people become more in tune with themselves.
With each and every quilt, it’s a chance for a new story to be written and for new feelings to be evoked. For some people, a creative hobby like this is a great distraction from their everyday lives, but for others it means to express themselves without words.

There is always a new pattern or stitch to try, or maybe it’s working through errors, but the lessons you can learn with this craft are unexpected, and that’s part of the beauty of it.

The world is so busy all of the time that it’s important to find time for yourself, and quilting is the perfect way to relax and wind down.
