Talent is all around us, and the music industry is just brimming with it as of late. There have been countless rising pop artists that have been consistently redefining the genre. Jasmine Ortiz has been working hard for her time to come into the music scene; with the way things are unfolding these days, it’s safe to say that the time is finally ripe for her to stake her claim.
One could say that much of her life had been leading up to this very moment. Jasmine Ortiz has been studying music for 17 years, both through private lessons and through formal education in her performing arts high school, the Frost School of Music. Jasmine is also amassing a lot of musical experience in her current university, the University of Miami.
As a student of music, Jasmine Ortiz is dedicated to consistently learn about music throughout every phase of her career. “I believe that there is always more knowledge to attain and more people to learn from,” says Jasmine. She is currently pursuing minors in songwriting, music business, and political science on top of trying to earn her major in musicianship, artistry development, and entrepreneurship.
Throughout her studies, Jasmine has a wide variety of knowledge of different music industry topics, such as copyright law, music business agreements, and recorded music operations such as production budgets and split sheets. No matter where she is, Jasmine Ortiz is determined to learn and grow. “I especially love learning from watching people in the studio first hand. I really pay attention when my producers or engineers are working on music,” explains the rising musical talent.
Jasmine Ortiz is a self-sufficient musician because she has acquired multiple skills that allow her to produce, write, record, and engineer for herself to release a demo. “I still send out my music for mixing and mastering, but I’m learning how to do that as well,” says Jasmine. As a musician, she thoroughly enjoys collaborating with different producers and songwriters to get even more ideas flowing, allowing her to learn in the process.
Apart from her own work in music, Jasmine Ortiz is also fully dedicated to advocating for social causes that she passionately cares about. She works with the Guitars Over Guns initiative, which provides free after-school music education to children in underfunded public school districts all throughout Miami-Dade county.
Not only is Jasmine Ortiz a talented young musician, but her heart is also in the right place. She has managed to serve multiple communities through her passion and dedication, even to the point of becoming a leader within her campus. She is involved with the Butler Center for Service and Leadership, where she serves as an ambassador for young Americans in social advocacy and public policy.
Jasmine Ortiz has everything going for her, right down from her principles to her talent. She is an exceptional personality that will shine a bright light within the music industry with her talent and genuine passion for helping others.
