Brandon Dean Johnson’s Iconic Art Characters, “The Hoodlins” Takes Center Stage at Major LA Coffee Shop

Brandon Dean Johnson is a producer, creator, director, artist and the founder and CEO of BigFooters, a start-up production, animation, live-action content and development company. Before venturing into painting and canvas designing, Brandon worked in the entertainment and animation production industry. His talent for creating unique designs led him to work with industry household names, such as Warner Bros, Disney, DreamWorks, and Netflix. With six years of designing experience under his belt, Brandon recently took a bow from his industry job to start his production company, BigFooters.

Through his company, BigFooters, Brandon created a YouTube series called Ratchet Raychel, which got 100% funded through Indiegogo for a pilot episode. To make his comeback on the art scenes in Los Angeles, Brandon had his first art show in July of 2021, where he showcased 101 different art pieces of his characters called The Hoodlins, one of the many characters that he developed within his Youtube series called “The Ratchet Raychel.”

Just a month before the well-acclaimed art show, the revolutionary artist teased the launch of the characters in a massive three-day event that showcased the iconic art characters. The pre-launch event proved to be a successful one, as more than half the pieces were sold with art lovers and pop culture enthusiasts falling in love with the pieces of Ratchet Raychel’s Hoodlins and generating tons of interest. However, those who missed the June showcase can still catch some of Brandon’s latest work at TeaPop of North Hollywood. Additionally, they can also experience over 25 new Hoodlin pieces available for purchase for a limited time. In December, Brandon and his BigFooters crew will present at the LA Comic Con to showcase their new comic book based on Ratchet Raychel’s Hoodlins.

Although now making an impact in the art and animation industry, Brandon Dean Johnson experienced homelessness when he first moved to LA. “I traveled here with my cousin and friend all the way from North Carolina. Once here, we were homeless for a bit which was rough, especially with no friends or family living here able to help with our situation,” he shared. However, not one to lose his optimism, he worked his way through his homeless condition and started creating exciting projects that others would want to work on. “It was at this time of being in the lowest state that I was able to become confident and smarter about my craft and abilities,” he said.

With a drive to become a top player in the animation/entertainment world, Brandon Dean Johnson sees BigFooters being a huge part of pop culture and animation in the coming years.
