More plans are being set in motion for the TV adaptation of the popular video game series created by Dontnod Entertainment, “Life is Strange.” Released in January 2015, “Life is Strange” blew audiences away with its innovative episodic nature, which pretty much played out like a TV show. Heavily inspired by “Twin Peaks,” the first entry in the game series was a massive commercial and critical success, making it the perfect subject for a TV adaptation.

The first entry of the video game series entitled “Life is Strange” centers around the town of Arcadia Bay, Oregon, where the looming mystery of Rachel Amber’s disappearance has left the town distraught and almost desolate. We see the story through our main protagonist, Max Caulfield, a teenager with the unique ability to rewind time. The game unfolds in a series of different paths depending on your decisions as you navigate Max’s personal, social, and school life in Blackwell Academy.

The game received glaringly positive reviews from critics and audiences alike, scoring an overall 85 out of 100 on Metacritic. “Life is Strange” also won the BAFTA Games Awards for Story of the Year 2016.

Legendary studios picked up the game for a television adaptation a year after its debut. Unfortunately, the project ran into a lot of production woes, seemingly coming to a standstill five years later. Most people have even forgotten all about it, but the gears are once again in motion as the team behind the project recently announced several developments picking up steam and generating buzz once again.

Among these recent developments involves the international pop star Shawn Mendes as he joins the project as Executive producer. Mendes will be contributing his musical expertise by overseeing the music for the TV series. He will be working alongside Permanent Content Partner Andrew Gertler.

Moreover, Anonymous Content will also be joining the team, which is great news for those in the know. Anonymous Content is the production company behind several notable projects such as “Mr. Robot,” “13 Reasons Why,” “The Alienist,” “The OA,” and “Dickinson.”

The “Life is Strange” TV adaptation still has a long way to go, but things are finally back in motion, and it couldn’t be any more exciting for fans of the popular video game series. Several sources have said that casting and other crucial information have yet to be confirmed.

In the meantime, fans can relive the exciting moments of the first “Life is Strange” game by playing through it all over again. The game is endlessly replayable, with the different paths you can take based on the decisions you make. For fans who are looking for a brand-new story in the “Life is Strange” universe, they can indulge in the franchise’s latest entry, “Life is Strange: True Colors,” which is scheduled to be released on September 30. The brand-new game features an entirely new story and a brand-new protagonist, Alex Chen.

“Life is Strange” has a dedicated fanbase who are all equally excited for every piece of new content they can get. So far, the video game series has never disappointed. With the upcoming TV series coming along smoothly, fans are looking forward to seeing their favorite characters brought to life on the small screen.
