Crush Network: A Vision for the Social Media Platform

Imagine an ethical social media platform that protects people, not one that preys upon them. That’s the mission that inspired multi-platinum recording artist and award-winning singer Noelia Lorenzo to create Crush Network.

Crush Network is different from conventional social media platforms like Facebook and X for many reasons, but perhaps the most important is its conscious dedication to ethics.

Crush Network’s Ethical Mission

Noelia got the idea for Crush Network while watching the documentary “The Social Network,” which tells the story of Facebook’s founding. According to the film, the network was initially created largely to help college students determine whether the people they were interested in were single. The possibility of romance — or rather, being intimate — was a key driver of the entire enterprise.

For Noelia, this approach sexualized users, unnecessarily romanticized relationships, and enabled predators to gain access to vulnerable people and minors. As Crush Network’s statement of purpose explains: “According to verifiable data and statistics, 7 out of 10 minors under the age of 15 have a mobile device. This means that around 70% of minors have unrestricted access to a virtual world where interaction with adults has not been regulated or restricted, exposing them to risks such as harassment, bullying, or pedophilia, among others.”

Indeed, social media use has become ubiquitous worldwide. Pew Research Center reports that, in 2022, 95 percent of American teens had access to a smartphone. The question isn’t if they are on social media or not — it’s which platform they choose to be active on. Currently, YouTube is the most popular, followed by TikTok and Instagram.

Since many of these platforms have a minimum age requirement of 13, many young people lie about their age when setting up their accounts. According to a recent study, one in three children between the ages of eight and 17 have used a fake date of birth for their profile, making them appear as adults. Meanwhile, 76 percent of American adults don’t think social media is appropriate for children.

Noelia began envisioning solutions. What would a social network look like that didn’t revolve around sexual intrigue and voyeurism? How could she create a social network that celebrates genuine human connections of the platonic variety? Wouldn’t a platform like that be the social network of the future?

Noelia assembled a global team of over 100 software developers and engineers to make her dream a reality. Over 1 million hours of proprietary coding later, people from all over the world can join Crush Network for free and participate in this safe, ethical online community.

Crush Network: A New Kind of Social Network

Like other social networking apps, Crush Network enables users to share ideas and images, make videos with copyright-free music, livestream, and enjoy video calls with their friends and family.

Unlike other social networking apps, however, Crush Network keeps minors safe by segmenting users into age-appropriate cohorts, similar to high school or college classes. This ensures that users know they are interacting with others in their own generation whenever they use the platform, eliminating the possibility of predatory behavior.

Crush Network also adopts an explicit “anti-dating” posture that encourages users to keep their posts clean and avoid posting photos with either partial or full nudity. “If love comes into your life, let it not be through a screen,” the app’s community guidelines state.

Moreover, on Crush Network, users retain the rights to the content they create.

Crush Network also promotes a high-quality, artistic aesthetic that other apps can’t match. In particular, they aren’t looking for pictures of kittens. “The Internet is already flooded with them,” the app’s community guidelines explain.

Crush Network Protects Users

Crush Network offers a truly new way to connect with others online. As a woman-owned and operated company that consciously commits itself to protecting users, Crush Network is the answer for anyone tired of exploitation on legacy platforms.

On Crush Network, you’ll find a safe haven and good vibes only. That’s why it’s positioned to become the social network of the future.
