For Dr. Minde Meng, dentistry has always been about more than fillings and cleanings. As a general dentist at Meng Dentistry in Missoula, Montana, she takes a health-centered approach that considers how oral care fits into a patient’s overall well-being. It is an outlook shaped by nearly two decades of clinical experience and a growing focus on the relationship between dental health and airway function.
A Foundation Built on Prevention and Restorative Care
Meng earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry in 2007, after completing her Bachelor of Science in Biology at Tarleton State University. She began treating patients in both private practice and public health settings immediately after graduating, gaining early exposure to a wide range of dental needs across different patient populations.
She moved to Missoula in 2009 with her husband, Dr. Joe Meng, who is also a dentist at the practice. Over the past decade, she has focused her work on routine restorative dentistry, disease prevention, and comprehensive general dental care for patients throughout the Missoula area. Her day-to-day work includes everything from fillings and crowns to patient education on long-term oral health habits.
Where Dental Care Meets Airway Health
One of the areas that has reshaped Meng’s approach to general dentistry is her work with Sleep Better Montana, a sister business to Meng Dentistry. Since joining that effort in 2023, she has deepened her understanding of how airway and breathing disorders affect both dental and systemic health. That same year, she earned her Qualified Dentist designation with the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM).
This training has given Meng a broader lens through which to evaluate her patients. Conditions like sleep apnea, for instance, can contribute to teeth grinding, jaw pain, and other issues that might otherwise be treated in isolation. By recognizing these patterns, she can help connect patients to the right care earlier, whether that means adjusting a treatment plan or coordinating with specialists.
Professional Roots and Community Ties
Originally from Dublin, Texas, Meng has built her career and personal life around the Missoula community. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Montana Dental Association, and the 2nd District Dental Society.
Outside of the office, she and Joe are raising two sons, Fletcher and Wyatt. The family spends their free time at hockey rinks, soccer fields, and basketball courts, and they camp together whenever the Montana weather cooperates.
A Practice That Puts Patients First
Meng Dentistry offers a full range of dental services, from bonding and veneers to emergency care, sedation dentistry, and TMJ treatment. Dr. Minde Meng’s role within the practice centers on the general and preventive side of that spectrum, giving patients a consistent point of contact for their routine care while staying connected to the broader clinical expertise the practice provides.
Her approach is straightforward. Focus on prevention, treat the whole patient, and stay curious about how dentistry intersects with the rest of a person’s health. For patients in Missoula looking for a general dentist who thinks beyond the chair, that combination is a meaningful one.
