This heritage dates back to his grandfather, Elijah Cunningham, who was a part of the elite Gospel Quartet, a group that flourished back in the sixties and seventies. Mont’e Millions saw his grandfather as a massive inspiration. His grandfather once opened for the musical sensation known as The Mighty Clouds of Joy, a massively popular American traditional gospel music quartet.
The initial inspiration and motivation that he had grew into a lifelong passion for Mont’e. By channeling this inner flame within him, he finally decided to stake his claim within the music industry and establish his own brand as an artist. Musical artistry runs in their blood, as his aunt, Yvonne Jackson, would eventually mentor him and teach him the foundational principles of blues and performing.
At the age of thirteen, Mont’e Millions would officially start performing in front of large crowds. He found his biggest break when he performed with the iconic Miami artist Betty Wright, who would take him under her wing. Betty would often help Mont’e Millions record and write songs throughout his teenage years, getting him on stage to perform all across the United States.
Mont’e Millions has had the opportunity of performing alongside BB King, Bo Diddley, and many other big names in the music industry. In 2007, he released his first-ever EP, which he produced under his own independent label, Life After Death Entertainment. The tracks would air in over ninety radio stations all over the world, selling over 150,000 copies in the process.
