From healthcare and artificial intelligence to media, hospitality, and entrepreneurship, Richie Hosein has spent more than two decades turning relationships, ideas, and opportunities into scalable businesses.
In a business world where the word “influence” is often measured by followers, visibility, and reach, Richie Hosein represents a different definition.
For the serial entrepreneur and longtime healthcare executive, influence is about the ability to connect people, recognize opportunities, execute ideas, and create measurable impact.
Across more than two decades, Hosein has built, scaled, advised, and invested in companies spanning healthcare, life sciences, artificial intelligence, hospitality, media, marketing, and consumer brands. His career has moved fluidly between corporate leadership and entrepreneurship, with each chapter informing the next.
His instinct for business appeared early.
While still in college, Hosein founded a sports marketing company. The experience offered an early preview of the skill that would later define much of his career, which is identifying an opportunity before it becomes obvious and building the relationships and infrastructure necessary to capitalize on it.
From Pharmaceutical Sales to Surgical Distribution
His formal healthcare career began at Pfizer, where he rose rapidly through the commercial organization. Hosein ranked #1 nationally in sales, earned the Vice President’s Cabinet Award and Rookie of the Year recognition, and was selected as a District Sales Trainer and Assistant District Manager.
But it was his next chapter that demonstrated his ability to help transform an organization at scale.
Hosein joined the sports medicine division of Johnson & Johnson through New York-based distributor Empire Surgical as its sixth team member. Working with surgeons, healthcare systems, administrators, and industry leaders, he helped drive expansion throughout the New York market.
During the growth period in which Hosein played a leadership role, Empire Surgical built out its presence across Long Island, Queens, and Brooklyn before ultimately exiting back to Johnson & Johnson.
He later helped scale a compounding pharmacy through a period of rapid expansion, contributing to another successful exit.
Those experiences shaped his philosophy around growth. Revenue matters, but sustainable growth requires systems, relationships, positioning, and disciplined execution.
Building an Entrepreneurial Healthcare Ecosystem
In 2004, Hosein founded TRE Medical Technology Consultants, a healthcare commercialization and advisory firm serving medical technology, diagnostics, digital health, and life sciences companies.
Through TRE, he has worked across commercialization, fundraising strategy, national sales leadership, and strategic partnerships while developing relationships with hospital executives, physicians, entrepreneurs, and investors.
Hosein also co-founded Baseline Health, a mobile healthcare platform designed to bring clinical services directly to employers, unions, municipalities, and underserved communities.
The company went on to support tens of thousands of patient encounters, showing how community-based healthcare delivery can also create stronger connections between patients and larger health systems.
More recently, Hosein moved deeper into artificial intelligence.
From March 2024 through August 2025, he served as Chief Growth Officer at Thinkhat Venture Studio, leading growth, commercialization, partnerships, and capital formation for AI companies focused on healthcare and life sciences.
During his tenure, he curated and led Thinkhat’s first capital raise and helped advance commercialization across AI scribing and medical education platforms.
He also ideated and co-founded FORMD.ai, an AI-powered medical simulation and education platform designed to support real-time clinical training, OSCE preparation, and personalized learning for healthcare professionals.
The Next Venture
Today, Hosein is bringing those experiences together through his own venture studio, focused on three verticals: healthcare, hospitality, and marketing and business architecture.
Among its portfolio companies is FreeHealth.ai, an AI-driven digital health companion designed to bring diagnostics, intake, laboratory information, imaging, and insurance navigation into a unified predictive health intelligence environment.
Another is 1nfluenc3 Media, a full-stack creative marketing and media agency combining talent, social media, events, public relations, content, and digital growth.
Hosein’s work in hospitality and community building also continues through SOCIAL8, an invitation-only membership community and event series he co-founded to connect founders, creators, investors, and executives.
The combination reflects Hosein’s broader view of modern entrepreneurship. Technology, culture, healthcare, media, and human relationships no longer exist in separate worlds. Increasingly, they overlap.

Influence Through Community and Leadership
His work also extends into leadership development through the Global Healthcare Leaders Foundation, an invite-only nonprofit community launched at the Harvard Club of Boston. Originating from his capstone project in the Harvard Medical School Global Healthcare Leadership Program, the organization brings together more than 100 healthcare executives, clinicians, innovators, investors, and policymakers.
For Hosein, building businesses and building communities appear to come from the same fundamental philosophy: connect exceptional people, create the right environment, and turn ideas into action.
In an era fascinated with visibility, Richie Hosein offers another definition of influence.
It is not simply about whose name people know.
It is about what happens when the right people, ideas, capital, technology, and execution come together to build something that lasts.
